Father Thomas Rivas is a born and raised Alaskan from Fairbanks. In 2018, he graduated with a double B.A in Political Science and History. Shortly after, Father Thomas accepted a position working in the Senate majority leaders' office in Juneau, Alaska. In late 2019, he answered the call to serve the holy Orthodox Church in Alaska and enrolled at Saint Herman's Theological Seminary in Kodiak. In March of 2020, Father Thomas began working in diocesan administration and currently serves as the episcopal secretary to His Grace, +Bishop ALEXEI. In May of 2022, Thomas graduated from Saint Herman's Seminary. On October 2nd, 2022 His Grace, +Bishop ALEXEI ordained Father Thomas to the holy diaconate at Saint Innocent Russian Orthodox Cathedral in Anchorage.
