How can I donate cryptocurrency to the diocese?

Donating crypto is safe, easy, and fast. Using the donation form on this page, making a charitable gift is a quick three-step process:

• Select your preferred crypto and enter your gift amount
• Type in your email and basic info (or choose to give anonymously)
• Make your gift!

 
Upon making a donation, you can elect to receive an automatically generated tax receipt that will be sent to the email address you provide after a certain amount of confirmations of the transaction on the blockchain. This confirmation of your donation will help you close the loop when calculating your taxes.

Why does the diocese accept cryptocurrency?

Are crypto donations tax-deductible?

The following content is specific to US 501(C)3 organizations and donors who are US taxpayers

Yes! Crypto donations are one of the most tax-efficient ways to give to charity. Your crypto donation is tax-deductible to the fullest extent permitted by law if you pay taxes in the U.S. By making a charitable gift, you may also be eligible to significantly reduce what you would otherwise owe in capital gains taxes.

Making a cryptocurrency donation to support the Diocese of Sitka and Alaska enables us to fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20) by:

• Providing clergy and their families with housing

• Supplementing clergy salaries to help meet their basic needs

• Managing diocesan properties which generate lease revenues

• Continue to be operationally viable

All cryptocurrency donations made via The Giving Block are non refundable. We are not able to give refunds if you changed your mind, sent the wrong cryptocurrency or made the wrong decision."

Please only send the exact cryptocurrency listed on the blockchain mentioned on the donation form. Do not send any other cryptocurrencies (including layer 2, wrapped tokens, NFTs or other ERC-20 tokens not listed) as these are unsupported and may result in loss of donation.
